The Galloway Township Police Department provides student internship opportunities to students who have an interest in public safety services.
Applicants must be a student in good standing currently enrolled in a two or four year college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must be at least 19 years of age and have completed a minimum of forty-eight college credits. Student majors should be Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Political Science or similar in nature.
The duties of students chosen to participate in the program vary with the particular events occurring when the student is interning. Internships include participating in a particular assigned project or program within the Department, dovetailing with the observation of Patrol, Communications, Investigative, Support, Community and Administrative functions of the Department. An intern should have excellent organizational skills, moderate office/computer skills and an interest in public and law enforcement service. Student interns do not receive compensation but may receive college credit dependent upon his/her school's policy.
Availability of internships are dependent upon suitable projects, and Interns are selected on a competitive basis. Interns are subject to, and must pass, a criminal background check.
